A 16-year-old student from Naparima College has won the prestigious International Young Scientist Award for her groundbreaking research on coral reef preservation in the Caribbean. The project, which studied the impact of climate change on local marine ecosystems, was selected from over 2,000 entries worldwide. "I want to show that young people from small islands can make big contributions to science," she said during her acceptance speech. The Ministry of Education has announced plans to support further research initiatives at the secondary school level.
